NARRATIVE SOURCE : Personal memory

After waking from a coma, I found myself questioning the nature
and validity of memories.
Some felt vivid, like a lived experience,
yet I couldn’t be certain if they were real, dreamed,
or maybe even fragments of an alternate reality.

Painting a pixelation of photographs I have taken,
and the memories they keep, I reflect on our
relationship to memory: fixed or resolute from a distance but as we try
to focus on details, this certainty becomes blurred or “pixelated”.

QUESTIONS:  Does imagination intrude on recollection?
Were the memories of connecting to something spiritually significant real,
or did my mind create them to help me through my recovery?
